Your one stop shop for D&D one shots
Finding friends as an adult is hard. Finding friends who want to game with you is harder. And don't even get me started on finding time for an ongoing game!
So we're going to take it one brief adventure at a time. 2-3 hours, low levels, low stakes.

House Rules & Recommendations
-
Prejudice, slurs, and aggression are not tolerated. Period. No racial/gender stereotypes or bad behavior explained away as “character.” Even evil characters can find more interesting ways to illustrate their alignment.
-
Any race, any class is fair game! Any published 5E material is welcome, as is Unearthed Arcana. Try something new and different! If you have never played before, I recommend a more straightforward class like Fighter or Ranger but try whatever appeals to you!
-
Start with a level 3 character; if you choose to play the same character in a different session, you may level up once for each session you’ve played, up to level 5
-
Point buy or standard array for your stats - whichever you prefer!
-
Roll20 features a character creation assistant (charactermancer); it’s a little limited, you might have to manually enter things, but don’t bother with background (unless you really, really want to) because of the short term nature of these characters
-
We’ll use voice chat via Discord or Facebook Messenger. An invite to the Startington channel will be sent to you when I confirm your spot in the game.
-
I run roleplay heavy games but don’t feel like you have to do voices or acting or anything outside your comfort level. There is no wrong way to play D&D (unless you’re a jerk; don’t be a jerk - see the first rule).
-
Please be patient with yourself and each other. I hope we’ll get some fresh blood and D&D can be a lot. Roll20 can also be a lot. But it’s allowing us to “get together” to game across great distances, so, thanks Roll20!
-
We want to keep these sessions pretty quick so please value everyone’s time by being on time. I recommend logging in a little early. If you are more than ten minutes late, we will begin without you. Please create your character before the start of the game and reach out if you need assistance!
